Amphetamine

What is it?
A stimulant that affects the central nervous system, and can be white, yellow, crystalline powder or paste. Amphetamine is also referred to as speed.

Can cause
Dry mouth • Jaw clenching • Heart palpitations • Anxiety • Insomnia

Safer use and harm reduction tips 

  • Avoid frequent redosing to reduce strain on the heart and brain. 
  • Use clean straws for snorting to prevent nasal damage. Use your own tube/”snorter” as hepatitis C can be transmitted. 
  • Stay hydrated and eat before use. 
  • Do a nasal rinse after consumption. 
  • Mixing with other stimulants causes cardiovascular stress. 
  • Have a trusted person around and take breaks. 
  • If persistive discomfort, get medical help. 
  • Carry Antidote (nalaxone) nasal spray, know how to use it and let others know you have it.
