Cocaine

What is it?
Cocaine is a stimulant derived from the coca plant, typically found as a white powder or crystalline ‘crack’ form. Cocaine is also referred to as coke, cola, blow, or crack.  

How does it feel?
Euphoria • Energy • Confidence • Talkativeness • Increased libido

Can cause
Anxiety • Aggression • Jaw clenching • Heart strain • Memory lapses

Safer use and harm reduction tips 

  • Avoid frequent redosing to reduce strain on the heart and brain. 
  • Use clean straws for snorting to prevent nasal damage. Use your own tube/”snorter” as hepatitis C can be transmitted. 
  • Stay hydrated and eat before use. 
  • Can be consumed orally to reduce strain on the nasal cavities. 
  • Mixing with other stimulants causes cardiovascular stress. 
  • Have a trusted person around and take breaks. 
  • If chest pain or persistive discomfort, get medical help
  • Carry Antidote (nalaxone) nasal spray, know how to use it and let others know you have it.
