A dissociative anesthetic used medically and recreationally. Typically found in powder or liquid form. Ketamine is also referred to as k, keta, kety or horse. Higher doses may lead to ‘K-hole’ experiences – users explain these states as an out-of-body experience, for some spiritually significant, while others find them frightening.

How does it feel?
Euphoria • Dissociation • Dreamlike state • Hallucinations

Can cause
Nausea • Vomiting • Heavy sedation • Anxiety • Reduced mobility

Safer use and harm reduction tips

  • Start low to gauge effects, do not try high doses alone.
  • Avoid mixing with alcohol, GHB/GBL or benzos as there is a high risk of respiratory paralysis.
  • Crush your drugs into fine powder.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Use clean straws for snorting to prevent nasal damage. Use your own tube/snorter/sniffer as hepatitis C can be transmitted.
  • Do a nasal rinse after consumption.
  • Carry Antidote (nalaxone) nasal spray, know how to use it and let others know you have it.

Remember to look out for each other, and call 1-1-2 for medical assistance.
